This is the second instalment of the Twilight series, and this story did not disappoint. I had to admit that I had seen the movie before I read the book, yet the book once more won out. There was more detail in the book, to explain the intense emotions that go on in the book, that just aren’t shown or captured adequately on the silver screen.
Bella is devastated when Edward leaves her, desserts her when she really needs him most, but Jacob is able to make her smile again, and fill the void that was left behind. But Jacob soon has a secret and one has to wonder if Bella is just one of those types who will always attracted dangerous types.
Stephanie Meyer has an engaging way of writing, of capturing the teenage angst and fervour, and putting into words feelings and emotions that many of us can probably relate to. This is a book that adults can read and get as much enjoyment out of as a teenager would.
