As Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob—knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella has one more decision to make: life or death. But which is which?
The third in the series, this book focuses on the growing relationship between Edward, Bella and Jacob. Victoriais out for revenge for the death of her partner James in the first book, and she is creating an army of vampires to take out the Cullens and Bella. The only chance they have to succeed is to enlist the aid of the werewolfs of the La Push reservation. They reluctantly join in, learning how to take down brand new, and vicious, vampires.
Bella and Jacob’s relationship is complicated by the games that Jacob and Edward play, but Edward is always confident that Bella is his, and Jacob is doing everything he can to prove to Bella that there is another alternative… him.
I found this story had some info dumping in it, but to be realistic, the information was part of the story, and there probably wasn’t really any way to get around it. Of the three I have read so far, I liked this one the best.
